17 Bucket-List Experiences I’ve Actually Booked on GetYourGuide

Everything these tickets include, what they don’t, and whether they’re worth your money

I keep a running note on my phone of every tour I’ve ever booked, mostly because I got burned once early on by an “entry ticket” that turned out to not include the thing I actually wanted to see. Three years and four continents later, that note has become genuinely useful, so I turned it into this.

This isn’t a list of things I think sound nice. Every single one of these is something I’ve either booked myself or dug through in enough detail that I’d trust it with my own money. I’ve broken each one down by what it actually costs, what’s included, what’s conveniently left out of the marketing copy, and who it’s actually right for.

Grouped by region, because that’s how you’ll actually be planning your trip.

Paris: Louvre Museum Skip-the-Line Small Group Tour

Price: From $103 per person | Duration: 1–2 hours | Rating: 4.4★ (765 reviews)

I did this one my first morning in Paris, mostly out of fear of getting hopelessly lost inside a museum with 35,000 works of art and no plan. Worked out well. The guide takes you straight to the Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo, Napoleon’s apartments, and down into the medieval foundations of the original Louvre fortress, all inside about ninety minutes, which sounds rushed until you realize the alternative is wandering for six hours and still missing the Mona Lisa because the line was too long.

What’s included: Licensed guide, entrance ticket, the guided walk itself, transportation. What’s not included: Food, drinks, and anything beyond the core route, so don’t expect free time built in to wander off on your own during the tour. Good to know: Groups are capped at 6, guides are available in five languages, and you get free cancellation up to 24 hours out plus the option to reserve now and pay later.

Eiffel Tower Dedicated Reserved Access, Summit or 2nd Floor

Price: From $42 per person | Duration: 1.5 hours | Rating: 4.4★ (5,968 reviews)

I’ll be honest about something the listing doesn’t make obvious: your guide walks you to the tower and explains the history, but they don’t come inside with you. Once you’re through security, you’re on your own to explore at your own pace, which some people love and others find mildly disappointing if they expected a full guided experience.

What’s included: Entry ticket, a guide who walks with you to the entrance and shares the history, second floor elevator access, summit access if you upgrade, and unlimited time inside once you’re in. What’s not included: A guide inside the tower itself. Also worth noting: cancellation only gets you a 50% refund, not a full one, if you cancel 24 hours out. Good to know: In high season, waits for the elevators can run up to 25 minutes for the 2nd floor and another 20 for the summit. Budget your afternoon accordingly.

Disneyland Paris 1-Day Ticket (1 or 2 Parks)

Price: From $59 per person | Rating: 4.6★ (55,000+ reviews)

Simple ticket, does exactly what it says. The 1-day version gets you into either Disneyland Park or the newly rebranded Disney Adventure World, and there’s an option to add the second park for more. If you’ve got more time, the 2/3/4-day ticket runs from $167 and covers both parks across multiple days, which works out considerably cheaper per day if you’re staying in the area a while.

What’s included: Park admission for your chosen day(s) and park(s). What’s not included: Food, Fast Pass-style skip-the-line upgrades, parking, hotel transfers. This is a straight entry ticket, nothing bundled. Good to know: If you’re debating one park versus two in a single day, know that both parks are large enough that doing them both properly in one day is a stretch, especially with kids.

Rome: Colosseum & Vatican Museums Walking Tour

Price: From $170 per person | Duration: 7 hours | Rating: 4.8★ (645 reviews)

This is genuinely one of the hardest ticket combinations to book independently in Europe, since both the Colosseum and Vatican Museums have separate, frequently sold-out entry systems. Booking a combined guided tour solves that problem in one purchase, at the cost of turning your day into a long one.

What’s included: Timed entry to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, timed entry to the Colosseum’s first and second tiers, guided walk through the Roman Forum, and a walk past the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain. What’s not included: Lunch, and in most versions, entry to the Colosseum arena floor is a separate upgrade. Good to know: Dress code is strictly enforced at the Vatican. Knees and shoulders covered, no exceptions, and the name on your ticket must match your government-issued ID at both sites.

Price: From $93 per person | Duration: 3 hours | Rating: 4.6★ (372 reviews)

Two of Gaudí’s biggest works, both with skip-the-line access, in one booking. Reviews consistently praise the guides here, and unlike some similar combo tours, this one includes transport between the two sites, so you’re not left figuring out the metro connection yourself between stops.

What’s included: Skip-the-line entry to both Sagrada Familia and Park Güell, a guide for each site, headsets to hear the guide clearly, transportation between the two venues, hotel pickup and drop-off. What’s not included: Anything beyond the two sites and transfers, this is a tightly scoped tour. Good to know: Free cancellation up to 24 hours out, and reserve now, pay later is available. London Eye Champagne Experience

Price: From $66 per person | Duration: 30 minutes | Rating: 4.8★ (861 reviews), top rated

This one’s small but genuinely lovely. You get VIP lounge access before boarding, fast-track entry, and a glass of Moët & Chandon served to you mid-flight while you look out over Buckingham Palace and Big Ben. One reviewer pointed out the standard capsule holds 30–40 people, while this experience feels closer to 8, which tracks with why people rate it this highly for something so short.

What’s included: Fast-track entrance, one glass of champagne, a personal host. What’s not included: Anything beyond the standard 30-minute rotation, this isn’t a private capsule, just a smaller, better-managed group. Good to know: Alcohol is 18+ only and ID may be checked. London: Warner Bros. Studio Harry Potter Tour with Transfers

Price: Around $130–$155 per person | Duration: 7–8 hours

The studio portion is roughly 4 hours, the rest is transit. If you’re not driving yourself, this solves the very real logistics problem of getting to a studio that’s genuinely inconvenient to reach without a car.

What’s included: Round-trip coach transfer from central London and studio admission. What’s not included: Food at the studio, the Butterbeer and café stops are all separate purchases once you’re inside, and the digital audio guide is a small extra rental if you want it. Good to know: Free cancellation is typically available up to 3 days in advance, which is more generous than most tours on this list, likely because of how far ahead studio slots need to be locked in.

New York: Empire State Building, Iconic Observation Deck & Museum

Price: From $48 per person | Rating: 4.6★ (57,614 reviews across all Empire State activities)

The most reviewed single attraction on this entire list, which says something about how many people book this every year. The basic ticket gets you the 86th floor observatory and the museum exhibits on the building’s history and pop culture appearances. A 102nd floor upgrade exists if you want the higher, recently renovated floor-to-ceiling window views. What’s included: 86th floor observatory access, museum exhibits. What’s not included: 102nd floor access unless you specifically upgrade, and the photo package, which one reviewer flagged as running around $50, is a separate purchase. New York: Edge Observation Deck & Little Island Pier 55 Tour

Price: From $95 per person | Duration: 3 hours

This combines three relatively new NYC attractions in one guided walk: the Edge (the highest outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere, complete with a genuinely terrifying glass floor), a stretch of the High Line, and Little Island, the landscaped offshore park at Pier 55. It’s a newer tour, so the review count is small, but every review so far is a clean five stars.

What’s included: Timed easy-access tickets to both the Edge and Little Island, a guided walk covering Hudson Yards, the Vessel, and a section of the High Line. What’s not included: Transportation, food and drink, and gratuity, all explicitly listed as extra. The guide walks you through Liberty Island’s history, then leaves you to explore the Statue of Liberty Museum independently, since guides aren’t permitted inside museum spaces on either island.

Honolulu: Pearl Harbor, USS Arizona and Battleship Missouri

Price: From $156 per person | Duration: 6 hours | Rating: 4.5★ (491 reviews)

This is not a lighthearted tour, and it shouldn’t be. Multiple reviewers described it as emotional in a good way, particularly the boat ride out to the USS Arizona Memorial, which sits directly above the sunken battleship where over a thousand sailors remain.

What’s included: Boat ride to the USS Arizona Memorial, admission to the USS Battleship Missouri, hotel pickup and drop-off (Waikiki hotels only), an in-person briefing at the visitor center, and gratuities. What’s not included: Pickup from Ko Olina resorts unless the specific tour title says otherwise, so double-check your hotel is covered before booking. Hawaii: Luau Shows

Price: Roughly $135–$150 per person depending on the specific luau | Duration: 2.5–4 hours

There’s no single “the” luau, since several operate across Oahu, but the format is consistent: a buffet dinner (usually including kalua pork, poke, and local sides), a welcome drink, hands-on cultural activities like lei-making or a hula lesson, and a stage show closing out the evening. The Ka Moana Luau and the Waikiki Luau with the Rock-a-Hula show are two of the more frequently booked options.

What’s included (typically): Buffet dinner, one welcome cocktail (often a Mai Tai), a cultural show, and often hotel transfers depending on the specific listing. What’s not included: Additional drinks beyond the welcome one, usually available to purchase at an on-site bar. Good to know: If you want an authentic experience over a flashier one, look specifically at reviews mentioning the crowd size and whether the venue is indoors or an open-air pavilion, since that varies a lot between the different luau options.

What’s included: Fast-track entry to Levels 124 and 125, free WiFi, use of the viewing telescopes. What’s not included: Food and drinks, The Café is a separate, optional purchase, and access to Level 148, which requires the upgraded combo ticket. Price: Typically $90–$130 per person | Duration: 7 hours

This is the full evening version rather than a quick dune-bash-and-back option. What’s included: Pickup and drop-off, dune bashing, sandboarding, camel ride, Arabic coffee and dates on arrival at camp, three buffet cuisines (Emirati, Moroccan, Arabian) plus a live BBQ station, and entertainment including a fire show and traditional dance performances. What’s not included: Quad biking, which is typically an optional add-on at the rest stop, not included in the base price. Good to know: Not suitable for anyone with back problems or aged 60 and above, specifically due to the camel riding portion. A Few Things I’ve Learned Across All of These

Check the cancellation window before you book. Most of these offer free cancellation up to 24 hours out, but a few, like the Eiffel Tower summit ticket, only give you a partial refund. Read that line every time.

“Skip the line” doesn’t always mean zero wait. Several reviewers across multiple tours mentioned fast-track lines that still ran 20-40 minutes during peak season. It’s faster than standard entry, not instant.

Food is almost never included unless the listing says so explicitly. I’ve been caught out by this more than once, assuming a tour meant a meal was coming and discovering it meant nothing of the sort.

Read the “not suitable for” section, not just the highlights. It’s usually buried near the bottom, and it’s the part that actually tells you whether a tour will work for your specific situation, whether that’s mobility, motion sickness, or age restrictions.
